Baccarat History Baccarat dates back to the Middle Ages. It is believed the game was first played with a Tarot card deck. The interesting bit to observe of course is that the casino is taking no risk here; they simply charge a fee from each banker. The Baccarat game we know today originated in Great Britain and was then passed along to South America and finally to Nevada. The infamous Dunes casino introduced baccarat in the late 50's, and since then it has made its final migration onto the world wide web. Baccarat has a history overseas also, which is evidenced by its popularity among the Asian population who visit Las Vegas each year. The highest of the high rollers often come from overseas to try their hand under the chandeliers of the stylish Vegas baccarat rooms. In casinos based in the Portuguese territory of Macao, near Hong Kong, the popularity of baccarat is unrivaled. Unlike the heavily ordered and systematic American casinos, these Portuguese tables often allow multiple players to bet on a single spot at the same time, while the expert dealers mentally keep track of each players commission on winning bank bets.

Chemin de Fer is a flexible version of baccarat, but in Banque you can find less of that character. The main difference between Chemin de Fer and Banque is in the rotating role of the banker. While in Chemin de Fer the role of the banker moves after he lose his stakes it is not so in Banque, in this baccarat's variation the banker continue to play, as long as he has the funds to support himself.Three packs of cards are used in this game, more can be found in use in different clubs and casinos but that is uncommon. The banker holds his position until all cards are dealt, or if he cannot finance his role, or if he decides to retire. The position on the bank is put to sell before the game commences and the highest bidder wins, though in some places the first to put his name on the list may take the role of the banker, while doing so with any amount of money he wishes to risk. The banker must play at least one hand before retiring, and when he retires he must announce the amount he earned or lost, and the next banker must start his role with the same amount of money being present in time of the banker's retirement. The role of the banker moves in rotation, and any player may decline the offer to become the banker. The past banker takes the place of his heir. After a player takes the role of the banker the game commence, the croupier shuffles the decks and handing them forward to the punters who then shuffle them if they wish to do so, the last shuffle is reserved to the banker, so do the option to choose the punter who would cut the cards. The banker sits in the middle of the baccarat table, facing him is the croupier, and between them, from each side of the table, there are five players in each side, thus ten in total, which is a full table. Other punters may bet outside of the table but only if the stakes of the players is lower than the banker's.After the cards are shuffled and cut the punters lay their bets and the banker deals three cards. One to the player to his right, one to the players to his left and then one card to himself. Thr procedure reapets once again, thus ending the banker and the two players, with two crads each.The right wing wins or lose depending on the cards given to them by the banker, the same goes to the left wing. After a punter loses his cards a next hand is dealt to the player sitting next to him.The croupier do not interfere unless the players or the banker disobeyed the rules. A player may "go bank" at any given time, if he lose he may do so once again, but no more than three times. The player to the banker's right has the first claim to "go bank", If two players, from both sides of the table, decide to "go bank" then, in case they win, they split the bank among them. The strategies of what should be played vary with each variety of poker this section however should give you good tips and guidelines to follow for all varieties of poker.

1. Bring the appropriate amount to the table. as a rule of thumb you should bring about 40-50 times the table limit.

9. Get out early. If you have nothing in your hand it is better to get out early than in the middle or the end
   
   
10. Take a break. If things aren't going well then take a break to keep yourself fresh and fed.
    
    
11. Know the probabilities. Make sure you know the odds of certain hands coming up. If you're betting heavily hoping to make an inside straight then you could be in trouble.
    
    
12. Treat every game the same. Don't let previous wins or losses cloud your judgment and play all hands sensibly.
    
    
13. Number of players. Remember that the amount of players determines what is a good hand. An average hand with three players is a poor one with seven.
    
    
14. Bet the big hands. Make sure that players have to pay to see a big hand.
    
    
15. Keep a poker face. Try to give a little away as possible and do not become emotional or wrapped up in the game as a good player will take advantage of this.
    
    
16. Calling. Only call a player if you think your hand can beat theirs and not call because you think that they are bluffing

Basic Rules of Play
Players place their bets prior to the cards being dealt. Tables and onlinecasinos will have a minimum bet required to play the game. Once all bets areplaced, each player and the dealer will receive two cards. Starting to thedealer's left side, the cards are dealt in a round one at a time to each playerending with the dealer receiving his second card face down. Depending on thegame, the player's are either dealt their cards face up or face down.

Each card in Blackjack has a certain value. Card between 2 and 10 simply havetheir face value regardless of suit. Jacks, Queens and Kings always have a valueof 10. An Ace can count as 1 or 11 depending on what is most beneficial to yourhand.

Player's add the value of their cards and either decide to "Stick" or"Stand" with their current cards or receive another card, called a"Hit" or "Draw," hopefully raising their total closer to 21without going over.

Once all players have decided to "Stand," the dealer reveals the facedown card known as the "Hole" card. If the dealer's hand is between 17and 21, he or she may not draw any additional card. If the dealer's hand is 16or below, cards must be drawn until the dealer's hand has a value of 17 orhigher.

Blackjack Bets
Blackjack can be won in a few different ways. If your first two cards total 21,you have Blackjack and win 3:2 odds (A $5.00 wager pays 7.5 additional dollars)on your bet automatically unless the dealer draws Blackjack as well causing atie or a "Push." In the case of a tie, no money is won or lost. Youwin if your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's hand. This type of win pays"Even Money" meaning that you win the same amount of money that youwagered. A $10.00 wager wins 10 additional dollars. Finally, if the dealer"Busts" or has a hand that exceeds 21 and your hand is less than 21,you win!

Double Down - A double down allows you to double your wager while youstill only have two cards in your hand. You are required to take one more cardonce you double down and cannot receive any additional cards after this. A handthat initially adds up to 10 or 11 is often the hand to double down on. Why? Theten card is the most frequently occurring card in the game of blackjack.Remember that the 10, Jack, Queen and King all have the value of ten multipliedby all suits. Because of this, there is a high chance that the third card thatyou receive will have a value of 10 bringing your hands value to 20 or 21.Pretty smart.

Splits - You can double your stakes another way by using a split. If youroriginal cards are of the same value (Ex. 7 and 7 or 9 and 9), you can splitthese two cards into separate hands creating two hands and a second bet equal toyour original bet. You now are playing two hands separately and increasing theirvalues by hitting each hand until you are ready to "Stand." The payoutfor winning on a split is always 1:1 or even money even if you have Blackjack.This is due to the fact that you did not get Blackjack using your original twocards.

Insurance - Insurance bets are not recommended for the basic player, asthe odds of winning with this type of bet are low. Insurance bets can be made ifthe dealer's face card is an ace. The dealer might have blackjack meaning thatyou automatically lose unless you also have blackjack, forcing a"Push."

Buying insurance means that you are protecting yourself in case the dealer hasblackjack. A $20.00 bet would cost you an additional $10.00 in insurance asinsurance normally costs half of your original bet. If the dealer does not haveblackjack on his turn, you lose your insurance wager and the hand continues tobe played normally. If the dealer does have blackjack, you lose your originalwager but win twice the amount of your insurance. In essence, you break even asinsurance pays 2:1 odds. Again, insurance protects you from losing money in casethe dealer has blackjack.
