Bets Make
Blackjack, or 21 is one of the most popular table game on the casino floor. A quick look might leave the impression that the closest hand to 21 wins, but that is not the case. Edward Thorp's classic book's title on the subject, Beat The Dealer, sums it up in a nutshell. A simple way to put it might be: It doesn't matter what you have; it just matters what the dealer has. That is an oversimplification but it's ultimately true. You can win and get paid when you have a total of 12, and lose on 20. It happens every day. This deceptive game has many different levels at which it can be played ranging from absolute novice to card-counting master. The thought here is to offer you the rules and some simplified strategies to give you a basic comfort level. Realizing that you are probably not going to make a million playing blackjack overnight, you should find the game entertaining and enjoyable. I can tell you that I have witnessed some pretty incredible streaks at the blackjack table (more about those later on), but most of us mortals merely want to risk a few dollars to take a chance and hopefully, with a little bit of knowledge and some patience, the cards will fall our way.

The rare ones are difficult to locate because many of them were taken to the city dump and are lost forever. Some collectors like the "thrill" of owning an illegal item. Not every state condones ownership of a slot machine, and some states require that it be a certain age before it can be sold. Levy said the Attorney General's office of each state regulates the sale of slot machines, and it is best to check with that office before buying. Cosmetic changes over the years are not the only consequences of the modern world of gaming. "With the old machines, you played one coin at a time and it paid on the center line. You could have fun playing and watching and waiting for the symbols to come up. Today's electronic slots play up to 60 lines at one time; they will take $100 dollar bills and will, geometrically, take money unbelieveably quicker. You can sit down and in a matter of seconds, your money is gone, and so is the fun of the game.

The idea behind roulette is a simple one there is however the complications arrive in the betting as there are several different ways to do it however the less the chance of the ball landing there the higher the payout. In a casino the chips are different to other games and each player has their own unique colour chips this stops any confusion about which bets are whose. There are lots of different types of bets in the game of roulette indicated by the place of chips on the table they are however normally divided into two major groups. The first of these is Inside bets
These are called inside bets as they are laid on the area directly inside the layout the inside bets are - Single Number (Pays 35 to 1)
Is a bet on one single number (Also known as a straight bet) To bet this you place the chips in the centre of the square of the number you wish to bet on. - Split Bet (Pays 17 to 1)
Is a bet on two numbers. To bet this you place your chips on the line in between the two numbers you wish to bet on. - Corner Bet (Pays 8 to 1)
Is a bet on four numbers (Also known as a Square or Quarter Bet) To bet this you place your chips on the corner of the four numbers you wish to bet on. The chip should be placed on the intersection of horizontal and vertical line. - Street Bet (Pays 11 to 1)
Is a bet on three numbers. To bet this you place your chips on the edge of the layout for the numbers you wish to bet on ndicated by placing the chip on the line at the edge of the number layout on the row you wish to bet on. - Special Line Bet (Pays 6 to 1)
Is a bet made on five different numbers and can only be placed on the 00,0,1,2,3. To place this bet you put your chips on the edge of the number layout between the zero rows and the first row. - Line Bet (Pays 5 to 1)
Is a bet on six adjoining numbers. To bet this you place your chips on the line at the edge of the number layout straddling the two rows you wish to bet on.
Outside bets
Outside bets are made on the betting area on the roulette table bordering the layout. Different tables have slightly different layouts for outside betting, you just find the location for the bet you want to make and place your chip there. - Red or Black (evens)
There are only two ways to make this bet, on all the red numbers or on all the black numbers. To bet this you place your chips on the location outside the number layout. - Odd or Even (evens)
There are only two ways to make this bet, on all the odd numbers or on all the even numbers. To bet this you place your chips on the location outside the number layout. - 1 -18 (evens)
There is only one way to make this bet, on the first half of the numbers on the wheel. to bet this you place your chips on the location outside the number layout. - 19-36 (evens)
There is only one way to make this bet, on the second half of the numbers on the wheel. To bet this you place your chips on the location outside the number layout. - Dozens (Pays 2 to 1)
There are only three ways to make this bet on the 1st 12 numbers, the 2nd 12 numbers or the 3rd set of 12 numbers. To bet this you place your chips on the outside the number layout. - Column Bets (Pays 2 to 1)
There are only three ways to make this bet on the 1st column, the 2nd column or the 3rd column of numbers. You indicate this bet by placing the chip on the location outside the number layout.

Blackjack Terms Blackjack means any combination of your first two cards that total 21 To ask the dealer to Hit on a hand, is to ask for another card. When the player tells the dealer they want to Stand , they are telling him that they don't want any more cards. If the player has been dealt a pair, they are able to Split the pair, and play 2 separate hands at the same time. (Some house rules will not allow you to split Aces, or Aces more than once) Hard hand is when the ace can only be counted as 1. When a player Doubles Down , they are doubling their bet and asking the dealer for ONLY one more card. Regardless of what the card is, the player must stand after doubling down. The player is given the choice of asking for Insurance , if the dealer has been dealt an "A" face up. By asking for Insurance, the player is making a side-bet that the down-card could be a 10 point card, giving the dealer 21. It has been stated many times, that Insurance is a "sucker bet" and to NEVER make this bet. Surrender is the only play at the blackjack table that requires a "verbal" response. If the player is dealt a hand that looks particularly dismal, they can surrender half the bet and end their play. This is also referred to as a "sucker bet", and some casinos don't even recognize it.(There are a few instances that a very skilled card counter can use this bet to their advantage) . A push or tie occurs when the total of your cards are the same as the dealers without going over 21. You do lose and you can change your bet on the next hand. Soft hand is when the ace can be counted as 1 or 11

Craps The first time you load up Craps into your casino software you'll wonder what on earth's going on! The good news is that the rules of craps are very simple. It's fast paced and exciting and it conjures up mental images of Las Vegas. It's the huge range of bets that puts newcomers off playing Craps but you only need to know the basics, and which bets to avoid. The Rules:
The shooter (dice thrower) steps up to the table and rolls two dice.
If the total of the scores on the dice is 7 or 11 then he wins immediately.
If the total of the scores on the dice is 2, 3 or 12 then he loses immediately. (2, 3, or 12 is known as Craps)
If the total of the scores on the dice is any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) then this number becomes "Point". A white puck is placed above the point number on the craps table to make the game easier to follow. The game is on…
The shooter then continues to roll the dice, for as long as it takes, until he either scores the point number or 7.
If he scores point, he wins.
If he scores 7, he loses.
A winning shooter stays at the table and starts again, a losing shooter hands the dice to the next player, and the game starts again. Basic terminology:
Shooter : the current dice thrower.
Come-out roll : The shooter's first roll.
Pass : If the shooter wins his game, by any means, he is said to "Pass".
Don't Pass : The term used if the shooter loses.
