Hit
To hit is to take another card to indicate this to the dealer you can tap the table behind the card in a shoe game. Stand
If you are satisfied with the current total then you can stop at the current total by standing. In a shoe game this is indicated by waving your hands over your cards

Doubling down
You may double down if the first two cards you are given add up to either 10 or 11. Doubling down allows you to double the amount that you bet and then receive one and only one card. This can be a very profitable way of making the most out of advantageous hands. To signal your intention to double down split by placing a bet of equal value on the table next to the first bet (touching neither the cards nor the original bet) If the correct play is to double down, you should always double for the full amount if possible. Splitting
You are able to split cards when you have been dealt a pair. By splitting the pair you have the ability to play two separate hands independently. To indicate that you would like to split you must put a matching bet next to your original bet. The rules for splitting can be complicated as they vary from casino to casino. Most casinos will allow you to double down after the split if one of the split pairs adds up to eleven. You play the first hand to completion before starting on the other one. If you are dealt an additional pair to one of the split cards then most allow you to split again. Some casinos restrict resplitting of pairs and some allow unlimited splits meaning if you double down you could have a lot more than your original bet on the table. There are also different rules in the casinos for splitting aces some do not allow it at all and some restricts you to drawing only one additional card on top of the aces. A split card that gets a ten laid on it is counted as a 21 and not a blackjack. You should always split the ace if it is allowed. Surrendering
Surrendering is allowed in some casinos If you feel that your two cards will be unable to beat the dealers hand you announce that you surrender. So it must be done before hitting or standing as once these have been done you no longer have the option to surrender. There are two different varieties of surrender early and late. In the early surrender the player may surrender before the dealer checks his hand for a blackjack. Insurance
When the dealers exposed card is an ace the player is given the option of insurance. The insurance bet is a side bet on whether the dealer has blackjack if you are correct you will receive 2 to 1 on the insurance bet but lose the original unless you have a blackjack as well the net effect is that if the dealer has blackjack you lose nothing hence the name insurance. If the dealer does not have blackjack the insurance bet is lost and you play as you would do normally with your cards. Insurance bets are offered if the dealer's face card is an ace. If the dealer shows an ace then he/she will ask if anyone wants insurance, this is a side bet on the dealer having a card worth ten as his/her face down card. If you think the dealer has a ten you can bet an amount up to the value of your original bet and if you are correct you will receive 2 to 1 on your insurance bet. This has nothing to do with your original bet, you still have to beat the dealer's hand, if he/she has the ten the best you can do is tie with a blackjack of your own. If you want insurance, half the original amount bet is placed on the semicircle labelled "insurance" which is printed on the table.

The payout All betting is done before the first card is dealt. The players win even money if they better the dealer, and win 3 to 2 for a blackjack

In order to become a master video poker player, there are a few things you need to know. The first is how to read a payout schedule, so you know the difference between short, partial play and full-pay versions. And second, you need to know the strategies for all the kinds of video poker games.

First we will discuss Pay Schedules, and once we’ve established everything you need to know about that topic, we’ll move onto Strategies for two challenging games, Deuces Wild and Joker's Wild.

PAY SCHEDULES

Typically, a 9/6 video poker game will hit the royal flush every 40,000 hands played, which is equivalent to approximately 80 to 100 hours of game time. Other games, such as the 8/5 will hit the royal flush every 45,000 hands, the 7/5's will hit each 50,000 hands, and the 6/5's will hit approximately every 70,000 hands played.

You should always bet the maximum number of coins that are allowed. For example, if you bet 5 coins, all winning hands are paid out multiplied by a factor of 5, except for the royal flush.

DEUCES WILD STRATEGIES

Full-pay Deuces Wild Versions will be 9/5's 9 coins for a straight flush and 5 coins for 4-of-a-kind.

You should not be reluctant to throw away your five cards. You want to make room for additional cards that could be deuces, and holding that Ace or King is not going to help you if the next hand coming up could be four or five sevens. This is why…

Most Jacks or Better players will throw away complete hands-5 cards only 3% of the time, while Deuces Wild players almost 20% of the time, which is approximately every fifth hand.

You should not keep two pairs. You should select one or the other, as 3-of-a-kind is the minimum scheduled payout. Inside straights should be held only if they present the best possible return from your initial five cards dealt. Therefore, a 5, 6, 8, 9 hand can produce a 7 or wild card in this video poker version.

Strategies for this game are determined by the number of deuces or absence of deuces that are dealt in your initial hand, and approximately every 5000 hands will hit four deuces. This is a secondary jackpot that will keep you in the game or allow you to pocket some winnings.

The excitement of all or nothing in Deuces makes it an awesome game to play. You can go for hours without seeing one Deuce, but then hit a Royal with Deuces, and four-of-a-kind is easy to get.

JOKER's WILD STRATEGIES

The full-pay Joker's Wild pay schedule will be 7/5 machines, 7 coins for a full house and 5 coins for a flush. There are two versions of the game out there: one returns money on a pair of Kings or better, while the other requires at least two pairs before there is a payout. This first game is obviously the more desirable full-pay version.

These strategies for Jokers, unlike Jacks, reflect the wild card, a 53-card deck, and the different payouts. If you do not hold the Joker, keep three cards to a royal over a pair of Aces or Kings because of the higher payout. You could catch another Ace or King and still be paid.

If three cards are consecutive cards for a straight flush, for example, the 5, 6, and 7 of hearts, discard other cards for the higher payback. If not consecutive, keep the small pair.

Don't be afraid to hold the Joker alone. More than 3% of the time, you won't be able to connect with a straight, flush, straight flush, or a high pair; however, holding the Joker only can give you four new cards, and a win.

    There are many system hustlers in Las Vegas right now, pushing their plans on unsuspecting gamers like ourselves. For example, I could show you how placing the red and two far columns covers almost all of the board. With this setup you're in a good position to make a hit on almost every spin. The only numbers not covered are the six blacks in the first column. The problem is, you'll end up losing more on your losing bets than you'll recover from your winning bets, in the long run. Most systems are the same, intriguing at first, but disappointing in the long run. Systems are by far the biggest way gamblers try to beat roulette, and it is likely the worst approach. Roulette is one of those games that gives the occasional opportunity.The most exploitable opportunity to beat roulette by cheating the casino is to learn how to identify a dealer's signature. The idea of a dealer's signature is that the roulette dealer may become so methodical in their actions, that they throw the marble with the same intensity on each spin. Granted the intensity and spin of the marble as it leaves the dealer's hands is only one variable in many that contribute to where it comes to rest, but if it is isolated there may be a pattern that emerges. This pattern is your best bet to beat roulette.There are a number of players worldwide who firmly believe they have encountered a dealer's signature, if only for one night. To try and identify a signature, discreetly stand in a position where you can see the ball leave the dealers hand. Take note of where it is on the wheel when it exits. Then pay attention to where to ball lands (taking note of any extremely random bouncy balls, exclude those from your experiment) Specifically try to measure how far around the wheel the ball has traveled. For each spin see if it has traveled around approximately the same amount each time. If it has you may identify a small pocket of numbers in one corner of the wheel that the dealer hits consistently, relative to where they let the marble go. Perhaps a dealer will consistently have the ball land three quarters of the way around the wheel from where it is let go. You simply watch until the dealer let the ball go, then you place bets on the group of numbers that fall that far around thewheel.
