The Gaming Club is somewhat of a trend-setter, they were the first casino to grace the internet and they have been leading the field since 1997. With a stock of games that is only just short of being the most we have ever seen available at an online casino, there is somethiing for everyone at the Gaming Club. It is very easy to go on and on about this casino, they have an impeccable record with fast payouts and a security system to rival Fort Knox!!
However, although the Gaming Club is undoubtedly a very good casino, we found that we were unable to get particularly excited about it. For such an established casino we thought that it was a bit cheap of them to use the standard Microgaming graphics, interface and sounds. When a casino has as good a pedigree as the Gaming Club we like to see them strive to take it further. To some extent they have done this by offering an increadible amount of games and providing a back-office that is always able to deliver the goods, so you never have to worry about whether you'll ever see your withdrawal. we just hoped that the Gaming Club would come up with something a bit sexier, an innovation to drive the industry along.
It might be unfair of us to expect so much from them and it is probably true that we are using a higher benchmark for the Gaming Club than we do for most casinos. In relation to its rivals the Gaming Club really is in front. We only grumble because we have come to expect so much from this casino, we don't want to see it go stagnant! For this reason the gaming club can not receive a rating of 10, but rest assured as soon as they announce their big step forward (which we're sure they will), they'll go straight to the top of the class.

The website for English Harbour appears very comprehensive especially on security and banking issues which is encouraging. It does stress that it is only compatible with Windows systems however. Two different downloads are offered depending on the number of games that you want to play which we think is a useful feature, especially for those of you with slow download capability.
Unfortunately, we don't think that the casino itself lives up to the expectation caused by the website. English Harbour are no longer with Microgaming and have opted for Odds-On as their software provider. We are not aware of the reasons for the move but can only assume it was for cost concerns as the new playing interface is far less impressive than the standard Microgaming interface, in our opinion. The slots are simple and dull and only offer one 5-Reel machine. The lack of bonus features becomes tedious very quickly. The triple slots function is novel and allows you to play three slots of your choice simultaneously. They are still dull however and we could not get excited by it.
The email support is non-existent in our experience. Having asked specific questions of the support team, we received a non-relevant auto-responder and some months later, still haven't received answers to our specific questions.
It is not however, all negative. If you can put up with the average playing interface, English Harbour do offer some great competitions and prize draws. These would typically include holidays to Vegas, a sports car and various cash prizes.

Pai Gow Poker is a variation of the Chinese domino game gai gow. Pai gow poker is played with a 53 card deck, including a joker. Pai Gow Poker is played one on one, the player against the dealer, each competing to make the best possible hands. After placing an initial bet, both player and dealer receive seven cards. The object of the game is for the player to split (or set) the seven dealt cards into two hands - a five-card High hand, and a two-card Low hand. The cards must be set in such a way that the five-card hand has a higher poker rank than the two-card hand. For example, the player's hand is: 6,7,8,9,10,A,A. The player sets the pair of Aces as the Low hand, and 6,7,8,9,10 (straight) as the High hand. The dealer's hand is: 2,2,2,A,K,4,5. The dealer sets the Ace and King as the Low hand, and 2,2,2,4,5 (three of a kind) as the High hand. The player beats both the dealer's High and Low hands, thus winning the round. The hands are ranked according to standard poker rules, with the exception that an A-2-3-4-5 straight is the second highest straight after A-K-Q-J-10. The only real difference between Pai Gow Poker hand ranks and standard poker hand ranks is that a five-Aces hand (four Aces and a Joker) beats a royal flush, and it is the highest hand in the game. By the way, the best Low hand is a pair of Aces. After the player finished arranging his/her hands, the dealer arranges his/her hands according to a set of fixed rules (the House Way) The player's two hands (High and Low) are then compared with the dealer's two hands (High and Low) to determine the winner. In order to win, both the player's High and Low hands must have a higher poker rank than both the dealer's High and Low hands (according to the Pai Gow Poker Hand Ranks table)

Punto Banco is actually Player Vs Banker. There are only two hands participating in this version and the real choices you can make are where to put your bets and that's all there is to it. The player has no options; the cards are dealt according to the rules, which can be found a little further in this article. The cards are dealt, two to each hand, when the player gets the first card. After this the next cards are dealt. Rules:
- If the player has a total of up to 5 he can draw another cards, otherwise, if has a total of 6 or 7 he stands, else, meaning he has 8 or 9 it is a 'natural' and not the player or the banker can draw another card.
- The rules for the banker are a little harder to memorize but they are not complex: If the bank holds a total of up to 2 the he draws another card. In case of total of 3 he draws if the third card of the player is '8'. In case of total of 4 he draws if the third card of the player is 2 to 7. In case of total of 5 he draws if the third card of the player is 4 to 7. In case of total of 0-5 and the player's total is 6 or 7 and he stands then the bank draws another card. In case of total of 6 he draws if the third card of the player is 6 or 7. In case of total of 6 and the player have a total of 6 or 7 he stands. In case of total of 7 he stands without drawing a third card. In case of total of 8 or 9 it is again a natural and no cards are dealt further. Bets:
As you can see, the game is predetermined from the initial two cards. After the wining hand is called the croupier will pay as following – a 1:1 will be paid to wining bets on players and 95% on bankers (the house's commission) A tie bet will earn 1:8 ratios. Notice that if a tie ("Egalite" in French) occurs, then bets on player or banker are not taken by the croupier. In some casinos a banker wage will be paid even, but in case of the banker's total is 6 then the wining wagers will be paid only half of their bets. The Table:
The table is employees are the croupier, who manages the game, and two dealers. The dealers are responsible for the bets. They collect, pay and charge commissions. The player with the highest bet plays as the player. The role of the banker is ceremonial, as the shoe passes from player to player. The banker is instructed by the croupier all along the round. Also, the banker can bet on himself, on the player or on a tie since his part in the game is truly ceremonial. Final notes:
This variation of baccarat is usually played by high rollers who play is separate parts of the casino in private secured and luxuries rooms. The minimum bets varies from 25$ to 500$ while the maximum is ten grand. Since the dealing of the cards is predetermined so do the odds, which are, in case of a six card decks game: A player's bet has a house edge of 1.24%, the banker bet a 1.06% and the tie bet has a 14.44% house edge.
