Everyone in gambling talks about it but it remains an obscure muddled subject. The topic is further muddled by those who confuse money management with sure-fire betting systems almost all of which lead to a precarious crossroad where more and more money is risked in the misguided hope of recovering that which is already lost. In the long history of gambling, from the earliest recorded history to the modern era, there has yet to surface a single betting system that is a proven winner. Like the medieval quest to turn lead into gold and water to wine, all attempts have failed. These systems have exotic names like Martingale, Grand Martingale, Fibonacci, D'Alembert but don't be fooled. The most logical money management system is simple but effective: bet less when losing and more when you are winning. Casinos understand that if you are losing, the chances increase you might "chase" your losses with even larger bets to get even. The worst time to start throwing larger bets out is when you are losing. You are probably not thinking clearly and would do better to change tables, lower your bet, or stop altogether.If you find that you are winning steadily, try betting a little more. The Players to the left of the Dealer begin by posting the blind bets .
Four pocket cards are dealt to each Player - face-down
First round of betting - options are to fold, bet, or raise. Only one bet, and three raises per Player are allowed on the first round. Players cannot "check" in the first round, as Blinds are bets, and not antes.
Three communal cards (flop ) are dealt face-up in the center of the table. All communal cards are active for all Players and can be used in combination with each Player's two cards.
Second round of betting - options are to check, fold, bet, or raise.
Fourth communal card (Turn ) is dealt face-up.
Third round of betting - options are to check, fold, bet, or raise.
If, at this stage, there are still at least two vying Players, the fifth, and final communal card (River ) is dealt face-up.
Final round of betting follows.
The Showdown! All remaining Players then create the best five-card hand possible. You can only use: two pocket cards and three communal cards .
The best hand wins the pot! If two or more Players have the same winning hand, the pot is split equally between them.

Blackjack Most people assume that playing Blackjack is all about scoring 21. This is not the case when playing in a casino. Your only objective is to beat the dealer, it doesn't matter whether you hand is worth 21 or 12, as long as you win. All wins pay evens except Blackjack, which pays 3/2 (1.5:1) Your main weapon is the fact that, in most casino rules, the dealer must hit on 16 or below and the dealer must stand on 17 or above. Armed with this knowledge it is possible to formulate a strategy based the value of the dealer's open card. Let's use an example: You have been dealt an 8 and a 5. The dealer's open card is a 5. You may think that a hand of 13 is no good to you but you'd be wrong! Don't forget that the dealer must hit on all scores of 16 or less and 16 is now the maximum score the dealer can have. You stand, the dealer turns over his card to reveal a 10. He has a hand worth 15, normally enough to beat you but because of the casino rules, he has to hit. He hits and draws a 10, he busts and you win with a hand worth 13. Played properly, Blackjack can realise very high percentage returns.
