Line Table

Two hands are dealt in which you have to bet whether one will win, or whether they will come out at a tie. A tie bet usually pays 8 to 1. It is somewhat like betting on Red and black in roulette. The only difference between betting on the Bank and a Player is that when you bet on the bank you are taxed 5%. This is because statistically it has been established that the bank will win three to four more hands than the player. The actual game play goes something as follows. The person dealing deals out two cards, face down, and then deals the person with the larger Player bet another two cards. This person then looks at the cards, and then returns them to the player who is dealing. The dealer then turns both hands over, and one of the casino dealers will then announce the results and the winner. A third card may be dealt in some instances, following strict rules of the casinos. But the baccarat rules doesn't allow dealing more than three cards. These are the basic baccarat rules. Of course there is more to it, such as when to deal a third card, but these decision are not important for actually playing the game, since they are enforced decisions. You cannot affect the game's course since it is dictated by the rules of baccarat, which leaves players with little to do but to place the right bet.

If you play enough roulette you may come across the term charting a table. This is an expression used by more experienced players and it can pertain to one of two things.

  1. Analyis of a table, based on data derived from watching a table or from the digital roulette score sign, or
  2. Physical notation of the table decisions, which may take place after the evaluation stage noted above.
In either case, you are attempting to glean information from the table about its active trends, so that data flow path can be analysed and acted upon. Notation, however, can also be useful for an expanded evaluation after the session. But what's the point of doing this if every table result is an independent event? The future is an unknown at any table, right? True. But most tables tend to incline in a certain direction, and that trend can hang on for quite some time. It comes down to this : you can be oblivious to the table trend, or you can customise your play around it. The former is gambling. The latter is gambling to win. As you can well imagine, I advocate the latter. Some players cling to the belief that all tables are equal, and so it makes no difference which table you choose. A table that shows five zeros out of the twenty numbers on its digital score sign is equal to one that shown none? Would you light a torch to see the sun?

A payline is a 'line' on slot machine reels on which symbols must line up on in order to win. Some slot machines have only 1 payline, some have 3, others have 5, 9 and even 15! Generally speaking, you must pay a coin to play each line on a machine, but have the option of not playing all available lines. So, on a 3 line machine, you can play the center line for one coin - the center line and the line above it for two coins - or all 3 lines for 3 coins. If you don't play a specific line and a winning combination comes up on it - then you don't win.Classic slot machines have 3 reels and only 1 line - a horizontal payline that goes through the middle of each reel. You may be able to wager more than one coin per spin on these games - but the amount will apply to wins on the same payline. (You win more by betting more, but your chances of winning stay the same)Other 3 reel slots often have three paylines, one in the middle, one above it, and one below it. Betting 1 coin activates the middle payline, betting 2 coins opens up 2 paylines, and 3 coins plays all 3 lines on a spin.5 reel slot machines typically have quite a few paylines, from 5 to 15. These paylines aren't necessarily straight lines - there's diagonal matches and lines that actually bend. How the lines go differs from machine to machine, but the lines should be marked clearly on each game.
