Table Play Bet

The popularity of Poker and in particular the variant called Texas Holdem has grown very rapidly over the last several years. The games reputation has benefited off of the publicity provided by all the televised games on cable TV such as the WPT, WSOP, and celebrity poker to name a few.

Additionally easy access to poker via the Internet, the ease of learning how to play the game, and the exiting entertainment it offers players of all skill levels has played an important role in its recent attractiveness.

You may have heard the holdem cliché which states it's a game which takes only a few minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. Well hopefully we can kick start your desire to play and give you the tools needed with a brief synopsis about the game.

Texas hold'em poker can be played between as few as two players, but more commonly you will find tables of 9 or 10 players. One player at the table is designated as dealer and a dealer button indicates this position. Game play starts to the left of this dealer and will move clockwise around the table. At the completion of each hand the button or dealer also moves clockwise around the table.

Prior to dealing the two players to the left of the dealer ante chips to sweeten the pot and keep the game moving. These players and their ante are referred to as the blinds. The first one is the small blind the second is the big blind. The small blind is ½ of the big blind and the big blind will be equal to the minimum bet.

To start the hand each player is dealt two cards face down. These cards called the hole cards are private to each player. Each player then looks at his or her two cards and calls, bets, raises, checks, or folds according to their hand strength. If a player raises the following players must then match that raise by calling the raise or folding.

After this round of betting has been completed the dealer will burn a card or remove a card from play then deal three community cards face up. These cards are referred to as the flop and each player may use them in the creation of their best 5 cards. Another round of wagering ensues.

The dealer then burns another card and deals one more community card face up. This card is referred to as the turn or 4th street. After this another round of wagering ensues.

If multiple players still remain the dealer then burns another card and deals one final community card face up. This card is referred to as the river or 5th street. After this another round of wagering ensues. After this final card the player with the best possible hand constructed of the seven available wins the money in the pot.

That should give you a very basic understanding of how the game is played. More than likely as a result of seeing the game on TV you already had that knowledge and are now ready to try the game out for yourself. Below is one of the more popular online poker rooms offering Texas Holdem poker. You will find plenty of games and enough action to keep you happy for a quite some time here.

Some people think that they have better chances if they play certain slot machine games such as those in the entrance, those that haven't paid off for a long time, or ones that have been paying off a lot. Don't waste your time trying to find a "hot" machine or a machine that is "due" to payoff, it's a myth. The slot machines are programmed at the manufacturing site to be random, each play on each machine has the same odds no matter how often or how long ago it paid off. There is some truth that the higher denomination machine payoff slightly more often than the smaller denomination machines. The nickel and quarter machines usually pay the least, while the $100.00 machines pay off the most often. It is also true that if you are a regular player, and play a lot the casino may consider you a preferred customer. These preferred customers may be given rewards by the casino in an attempt to keep their business. So it may be to your advantage to stay with only one casino and do all of your gaming at the same place.Simple Slots : for simple slot machines where you simply bet one coin and pull the lever there is no strategy, you simply play for fun. Just remember to play at a level you can afford. Take your wins when you get them, accept your losses, and enjoy yourself.Multiple-Coin slots are slot machines that allow for multiple coins to be played. There are two different types:

  1. On some, you can increase your odds of winning by increasing the number of payout lines. Each coin played adds another payout line up to a maximum of five, three horizontal lines and two diagonal lines. The machine will pay out on winning sequences on all lines you've bet on.
  2. On others, you can increase the payout on winning depending on your bet. For example, if one coin is played a payout might be 200 coins, 500 coins for two coins played and 1000 coins if a third coin is played. The best strategy for these machines is to play the maximum numbers of coins, because assuming you win the same number of times the additional payout percentage makes you more money. Think about stepping down a level if you want to limit your wagers, it is smarter to play a quarter machine using maximum coins rather than to play a dollar machine using one coin.

Like all table games you can play at the casino, roulette has what are known as 'table limits'. These limits define how little you must bet at the table, and how much you are allowed to bet. You may be confused as to why casinos would limit the upper amount of what you may spend at one time when you play roulette, but that little secret is revealed on our roulette systems page. The lower limit at a roulette table comes into effect in two different ways: one for inside bets, and another for outside bets. You are required to play the table minimum at least on each of your outside bets; on inside bets the total of all of your bets must meet or exceed the table minimum. This bit of information is all you need to know in order to start to play roulette.

Inside Bets

As we know, there are two types of bet you can place when you play roulette: outside bets and inside bets. Lets start by looking at the inside bets. The inside bets are made up of specific numbers or combinations of numbers within the number layout, or along the border of it. Remember, the total of all of your bets must add up to at least the table minimum. This means if your table minimum is five dollars, you can put one dollar down on five different numbers and be ok. The same is not true for outside bets.

Straight-up bet - This is the bet you may think of first in roulette. Pick a single number, and if it comes up you win. This bet pays back at 35 to 1.

Split bet - This bet allows you to place a single bet on two different numbers if those numbers are beside each other on the table layout. To play this bet put your chips down on the line between them. This bet pays 17 to 1 if either of your chosen numbers come up.

Street bet - This bet is just like the split bet, but you're splitting over three numbers. You accomplish this by placing chips on the outside of the row of numbers you want to bet on. So if you want to bet on the numbers 1, 2, and 3 all at once, put your chips down on the line that is the outside edge of the 3. This bet pays 11 to 1.

Corner bet - The corner bet is another combination wager, letting you bet on four adjoining numbers. Placing your chips at the point where four numbers meet will indicate you want a corner bet. This is sometimes referred to as a square bet. If any of the four numbers come up, you're paid 8 to 1.

Fiver number bet - There is only one five number bet available, and as such, it's referred to as the five number bet. To play this bet put your chips at the intersection of 0 and 1 on the corner (not the corner that joins with two, but the other one) You can win if any of 0, 00, 1, 2, or 3 are hit. You are paid 6 to 1. Sadly this is bet has a higher house edge of any others when you play roulette.

The object of the game is to throw a 7 or 11, which are winning throws and avoid throwing 2,3 or 12, which are losing throws. Any player can bet on the throw of the dice and can either bet on the shooter or on the house.
